(1) Inventor/Entrepreneur Night at the Movies Feat. The Founder
Learn from our "Entrepreneur Night at the Movies" Event as we Study Selected Scenes from "The Founder"
One of the best ways you can gain the wisdom necessary to become a successful inventor or entrepreneur is to learn from other people who have succeeded in spite of setbacks. One great example of this is the story of Ray Kroc, whose story of starting out as a milkshake machine salesman to the person who made McDonald's a household name is told in a recent movie.
The
Founder
Join us as we examine the story of a self-described "over-the-hill milkshake machine salesman" as he built a fast-food empire that is now known all over the world.
This great story shows how an inventor, innovator or entrepreneur can all face a myriad of obstacles, betrayals, adversaries, challenges and decisions that will have consequences and lasting implications on the future and legacy of your idea, product or business.
Accompany us as we immerse ourselves into this story by examining selected scenes and then stopping the action - to discuss and learn from the mistakes made, the challenges faced, and how others have been able to overcome them to become the success we know today.
Your Instructor
I have over 20 years experience in bootstrapping companies from startup to exit, developing product lines, negotiating with companies, taking products from ideas to products & businesses that produce income, and educating inventors & entrepreneurs - empowering them to engage and move forward toward success.
I bootstrapped a startup out of a farm house in rural KY, and grew it over 23 years to a manufacturer of product technologies for the pathology laboratory industry, making & selling products to hospitals & laboratories across the country. I developed the product line, catalog, and marketing materials for over 50 technical products, and was responsible for the marketing and sales. I was also the key person in negotiations for our company acquisition and exit strategy in 2014.
In addition to being a successful inventor & entrepreneur, I have mentored, coached and consulted with literally hundreds through my work with the Inventors Network KY for over the past 15 years.
As an outreach program of the Inventors Council, in 2004, I created what has grown to become one of the largest Inventor/Entrepreneur Events of it's kind in the Midwest, Inventor-Con. This conference now draws nationally known speakers, inventors and entrepreneurs from all over the country.
